Bizarrely this topic of conversation is only likely to lighten to mood. Greater Manchester Police (GMP) are currently running a manhunt for a 17-21 year old skinny black male with a fondness for athletic clothing who carried out three sexual assaults in the Greater Manchester area on Friday (3/8/12) night/Saturday (4/8/12) morning. GMP have linked these to three other similar sexual assaults that began on July 19th (19/7/12). While at this point I think it might be something of a leap to assume these incidents actually occurred although no details have been released that fact that three of the assaults took place within an hour of each I think it's fair to assume we're talking about inappropriate touching rather then full on gang-rape. This obviously promotes discussion about what constitutes a sexual assault because the answer you'd get in say Saudi Arabia is very different from the answer you would get in say Sweden.
Mainly though it's to add urgency to a campaign the Olympic travel organisers (@GAOTG) have been running to make sure visitors only use licensed taxi cabs. All you have to do is SMS the word CAB to 60835 and they will SMS you back the telephone numbers for three local licensed taxi companies. The fact that they tell you in the advertisement that they are able to do this by tracking the GPS chip in your smart/newer cell phone is designed to make visitors paranoid although I'm not sure why it should after all how do people think the map function on their phone works.
17:10 on 5/8/12.
