There's a big Olympic press conference going on so I'm trying to be quiet.

Edited at around 15:10 on 13/8/12 to add:
I actually got up at around 10:50 however as that clashed with the big final Olympic press conference it demonstrates that although the sporting events have finished the Olympics are still sort of going on. For example there is the not insignificant matter of getting all the delegations home. London's Heathrow airport is experiencing it's highest volume of departures in it's history and has built a special terminal purely for the Olympic traffic. Also Nadzeya Ostapchuck a female shot-putter from Belarus has been stripped of her gold medal after testing positive for metenolone a type of steroid. Ostapchuck is the first athlete to be stripped of a medal at the 2012 games demonstrating that the games have largely been a drug free event.
Technically the 2012 Olympic don't actually end until after the Parallel(para)-Olympics which begin on August 29th (29/8/12). However as the para-Olympics only have around 20 events compared with the main Olympics 300+ events it will be much smaller and always as something of a debrief allowing any outstanding business from the main games to be re-visited.
