after being unfit to practice medicine dr freddie patel - the pathologist who performed the first autopsy on ian tomlinson has today been struck off the medical register. there he can no longer practice medicine in the uk or refer to himself as a doctor. now all the brits need to do to bring the tomlinson case into compliance is to declare a mis-trial over pc simon harwood's manslaughter charges and hold a new trial. obviously i can't pre-judge the outcome of that trial but with it not in dispute that pc harwood carried out the act that caused mr tomlinson's death and pc harwood unable to offer a lawful excuse for committing that act his options are really to plead guilty or to plead guilty.
also today the stephan lawerance murder case is back in the news. it's worth noting that the notting hill carnival takes place this coming weekend. therefore it seems to be a deliberate attempt to provoke violence at the carnival in order to help notting hill residents (e.g prime minister david cameron) get the carnival banned. so much for the political independence of british courts.
