today sees the publication of the general certificate of secondary education (gcse) exams. the big controversy is that in core subjects such as english and maths the grade boundary between the 'd' grade and the benchmark 'c' grade has been substantially widened. this means that many schools will fail to meet their target for 'c' grades. therefore they are likely to be turned into academies - a type of semi-private school that the conservative party are very keen on.
the second controversy which ties in with the azil nadil fraud trial is that according to my exam results there is no way i should have been clever enough to pull off that court of protection thing. i was clever enough though so i wouldn't worry about what gcse results you got. no-one else does.
