The French Squirt Continues.

The saga surrounding the killing of the British al-Hilli family in the French Alps last week has continued to release fresh revelations.

On Monday (10/9/12) French police announced that they had recovered 25 7.65mm (.32ACP) bullets from the scene but did not give any further details about the type of weapon used. This led to quite a lot of speculation because not to be confused with the 7.62mm bullet used by the famous AK-47 along with the American M60 and British L7 General Purpose Machine Guns (GPMG) the 7.65mm bullet is very rarely used limited to a handful of semi-automatic pistols such as the Russian Tokarev, the French SACM Mle 35A and the Czech CZ75. It is of course the type of bullet famously used in James Bond's Walther PPK although I think even James Bond's stopped using that particular antique. However it is extremely unlikely that anyone would have been able to do that level of damage with a semi-automatic pistol so I think we're really talking about a sub-machine gun capable of fully automatic fire. Apart from the Soviet PPS which is really a world war two museum peice the only sub-machine gun to fire the 7.65mm bullet is the Czechoslovakian Skorpion. Designed for use by tank crews and special forces it became a firm favourite by Soviet Bloc backed terrorists during the 1970's because it's easy to use, small enough to hide under a jacket and is really only good for filling a room with a lot of bullets without any degree of accuracy. NATO's answer to the Skorpion was of course the MAC-10. However the Skorpion was only designed to take either a 10 round or 20 round box magazine so the firing of 25 bullets suggests that either the killer took their time to change magazines or had simply built a longer magazine because special forces have been know to customise their weapons to the point of turning them into totally new and unique types of weapon. As with my star-sign Scorpio the Skorpion of course takes it's name from the Scorpion insect.

Today Brett Martin the former British Royal Air Force (RAF) officer who discovered the scene of the shooting has been giving interviews to the British press (BBC). Of course RAF is also to the acronym of the Red Army Faction or Baader-Meinhof gang who were notorious left-wing terrorists who were very active in western Europe during the 1970/80's. As an Italian counter-part of the Baader-Meinhof gang the Red Brigades seem to be making a bit of a come back through the Informal Anarchist Federation (FAI) this was an obvious way to promote discussion about how to stop the FAI getting hold of weapons like the Skorpion which you can pick up parts of eastern Europe for around USD150. Also Mr Martin's presence also helps to confirm that Saad al-Hilli was in fact working for the intelligence services because while they're not overtly given bodyguards you will often find people like that tend to go on holiday to places were ex-military types also tend to go on holiday. I of course remember this from my childhood trips abroad and it was something my paternal grandfather was heavily involved in most famously in Grenada just before the 1979 coup which does go some way to explain why I have so much knowledge about guns just taking up space in my brain. The fact that Mr Martin appears to have been particularly unsuccessful in his mission suggests that the British gave the French permission to kill the al-Hilli family.

Also of course if you know what to look for you will see that during his interview Brett Martin keeps hinting at the symptoms of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) in order to promote discussion so you can pretty much guarantee that interview is going to be played on an almost constant loop on the BBC New channel today especially as my father is visiting my grandmother.

Edited at around 15:25 on 13/9/12 to add:

Of course what the French and the British are blaming the the al-Hilli killings on is some sort of Arabic tribal feud in order to promote discussion about Arabic tribal culture which caused Britain and the US so many problems in Iraq, is contributing to the slaughter in Syria and which Britain and France hoped would turn Libya into a similar hellhole. However in the case of Libya France and Britain are really just trying to convince everyone that Arabs kill each other every day in tribal feuds in order to use it as an excuse to assassinate all those troublesome Libyan politicians who have got this strange idea of trying to run Libya in the best interests of the Libyan people rather then BP and Total.

Also should point out that my little brother got back from France on Monday un-murdered. I really should have a catch up with him to see if he clocked who is body guard was.
