Harsh!

Following on from the scandal of a US celebrity gossip website publishing naked photographs of Britain's Prince Henry/Harry Wales a French celebrity magazine has today published topless photographs of Catherine Middleton the Duchess of Cambridge and wife of Prince William Wales. Obviously this feeds into the whole debate about press freedoms and restrictions on the Internet especially in the wake of Afghanistan's decision to block YouTube and YouTube's decision to restrict access in Muslim nations to that film that is said to insult the Prophet Mohamed.

However I think the main purpose of the exercise is to force Rihanna to spend the day discussing the issue in the hope she will explain her decision to go very topless during the shooting the "We Found Love" video in Northern Ireland. Of course the fact that a year after her fairytale wedding Kate Middleton has now been relegated to the role of annoying a pop star prompts obvious discussions about the British Royal Family's attempts to boost it's popularity by embracing modern celebrity culture and put extra pressure on her to do her duty and give birth to a heir to the British throne. So just to clarify for any Chinese readers while William may well become King Catherine will never be a Princess because she's not of Royal blood.

As for the photographs I might try and save the British tabloids the trouble and post them up here but having just woken up with a bit of a hangover I can honestly say the thought of seeing Catherine Duchess of Cambridge topless made me throw up a little in my mouth.

However due to my general cr*pness in the field of IT and to avoid a nasty argument about why my smartphone provider (O2) will now permanently block any site showing topless photographs of any women in any context in preparation British government plans to end net neutrality in order 'protect our children from hardcore pornography' I can only post a link;

You should still try and get hold of a copy of the magazine though and learn to speak French because apparently the nudity isn't the offensive bit. Apparently the magazine has laid out the photographs in the style of one of those agony aunt photo-stories you get in tabloid newspapers so the accompanying text goes something like; "Dear Deidre I've recently married this wonderful man and his parents desperately want us to start a family. The problem is he seems more interested in his computer then me. I've tried everything from slipping my top to getting him to rub sun tan lotion into my hot, sweaty breasts...." before carrying on like that. If I get the time I will download the pictures and add my own speech bubbles but I really, really need to clean the bathroom and this has got me laughing so hard I think I might just fall off my chair.

Oh and the winner on Twitter so has been @Frankieboyle with; "Not finding these pics of Kate Middleton that sexy so I'm photoshopping on a sniper's crosshairs" which I think is a pretty neat way of pointing out that Britain and France are trying to dress this up as a spat over the death of Princess Diana.
