Para-Olympics Day 9: Ashton Needs Shooting.

Just once or twice like. As today is Friday August 7th (7/9/12) the para-Olympics has only one day of competition left. So with most of the world now finished their working weeks I thought the pressure would change and I would have a moment of quiet during which I could update my post on the opening ceremony. Unfortunately the Labour Party appointed Peer Baroness Catherine Ashton has decided to use her role as the European Union's (EU) Special Representative for Foreign Affairs to hold a Friday to Saturday two day EU Foreign Minister's Summit on Syria in Cyprus. The stupid who*ebitch of a c*nt thinks that this will be an effective way to learn more about Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) in order to help British troops decompress as they return from the conflict in Afghanistan because apparently that has become a bit of an issue with the locals. Unfortunately in preparation for this summit the Saudi and Qatari Irregular Army (SQIA) did decide to put on a bit of a show of bombing assassinations throughout Syria. So I'm inclined to say that the pay off is hardly worth the price.

The rest of my update of the day's event will appear here later once I regain my composure. Cocaine will help.

22:30 on 7/9/12.

Sorry have I mentioned how astounded I am that there are still people alive on this earth who think it is acceptable to provide the SQIA with weapons, communication equipment, medical supplies or other forms of non-lethal support. Fortunately Canada rather helpfully provided an explanation by cutting off all diplomatic ties with Iran and expelling all of their Canadian hosted diplomats claiming that Iran was "The most significant threat to global peace and security" in the world at the moment. You've got to admit that it's a rather clever trick they've played on Obama there. First they give him a Nobel peace prize which convinces him that he's got to take Iranian oil off the global market. Then some people in Libya start shooting each other and the FBI get all guilty over Lockerbie and suddenly Libyan oil gets taken off the market. Finally there's an uprising in Syria and suddenly their oil is off the market. As the US economy is fuelled by oil this leaves Obama totally dependent on Saudi Arabia and Iraq's rapidly emptying oil reserves for his chances of re-election.

The other big news of the day is that a series of small earthquakes (max 5.7) struck the Chinese provinces of Yunnan and Guizhou killing at least 50 and destroying around 50,000 buildings. As with the recent flooding in Beijing this highlights a significant problem within China's political class whereby the contracts to build things like buildings and pump-stations all too often go to the guy who pays the biggest bribe to corrupt local officials rather then the guy who can actually do the job. Of course elements of Chinese society already understand this because well Bo Xilai was very corrupt and Bo's not there any more. In fact I don't know why I'm telling you this because it's only going to start fights in this transition year.

The rest of the day has been made up of little niggles such as a British journalist being arrested over phone hacking in order to further gauge the "Prince Harry in Afghanistan" story. The British government attempting to raise discussions with Norway over North Sea Oil consumption by announcing tax breaks to keep old platforms pumping. The United States did declare the "Haqqani network" to be a terrorist organisation claiming that it fitted the criteria. Although they've been linked to a number of attacks in Afghanistan and Pakistan no-one's exactly sure which "Haqqani network" the US were referring to so it's probably best I leave that sentence there for now. Also newly appointed British Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt was booed at the para-Olympic road cycling at Brands Hatch. Although I've not seen the booing I believe this was over the government's plan to scrap the National Health Service (NHS) and was largely heartfelt because the NHS has long since been scrapped.

The niggles continued with the news that a 49 year old man has been arrested over the mugging of a 91 year old woman in the Highgate area of north London on (14/8/12). With a Highgate address the assumption is that the woman who is still in hospital with head injuries is Jewish. I have my doubts about the arrested man because it's seems more like a timely enquiry as to whether Israel thinks it was a professional hit or if they're even aware of it. Similarly it was announced that a second Polish man has died of his injuries (serious burns) sustained during a fire in a squatted Salvation Army building in the Olympic Borough of Hackney on 4/8/12. One Polish man is in custody and a Coroners Inquest has been opened and adjourned but discussions about EU immigration policy aside I think that really the price you pay for living in a free society is that sometimes people will insist on using their own initiative to resolve disputes. That is also my assessment of the Pakistani Blasphemy girl because I honestly think that rather then being a government set up it's something that has happened that the Pakistani government has been forced to deal with.

Things did threaten to get serious when it was announced 26 year old woman who was clearly having a bad day had been arrested in Turkey after presenting a man's severed head in a public square and declaring "Do not play with my honour. Here is the head of a man who played with my honour!" She claims that the man she'd shot 10 times in the groin before stabbing him multiple times and cutting his head off had raped her on multiple occasions and was the father of her unborn baby. Obviously the actions of this married mother of two raises serious questions within Turkish society about the role of women and why men are rarely killed to restore the honour of women who've been raped. Unfortunately with the EU Summit going on Britain decided to make this story all about rape and domestic violence with the story of a Dorset police officer who was been jailed for 10 years for beating an ex-girlfriend in an unsuccessful attempt to cause her to miscarry her baby. Apart from the obvious this was an attempt to promote discussion about a Croydon women who I supposedly got pregnant. Although this is an entirely theoretical discussion I should point out that as the Brits were using the woman in question as a live HIV test subject I think we're already far below a mere ethical debate about abortion.

The main event of the day though has been the killing of the al-Hilli family in a BMW in France which I am now referring too as "The French Squirt." French prosecutors have now accepted that the killings did occur and confirmed that it was the Iraqi born British al-Hilli family who were the intended targets. They also suggested that the killings may have been a murder for hire to resolve a financial dispute between the father (Saad al-Hilli) and his brother. His brother has since denied this. Dressed in the clothes of a possible dispute between me and my younger brother over my grandmother's case this was actually a reference to the murder in South Africa of Swedish born Indian Anni Dewani and the South African's attempts to extradite her gay British Indian husband Shrien. While I appreciate that it is not acceptable for a nation to allow people to invade their borders in order to carry out murder I honestly think that if South Africa had just left this one alone everybody would have already forgotten about it. After all the fact that the court appointed prosecution psychiatrist is conspiring with the court appointed defence psychiatrist and the British Court to delay Shrein's extradition for as long as possible means that the South Africans can now legitimately write it off as a state sponsored act. This of course made Britain a little paranoid and led to them just shouting out random murder cases such as the conviction an sentencing to a life term of James Rickerby a black hotel worker living in Balham for the murder of the equally black Solomon Sarfo from Brixton. The race of the participants in this case was supposed to distract the USA by again blaming them and the blacks for the August riots which links in to the Coroners Inquest about those British soldier killed by US Apache helicopters in Afghanistan and the question of whether the retaliation has already begun. The fact they also went with the all working class white murder of Luke Fitzpatrick is just a sign the Brits think they've got reason to be nervous. While I'm not definitely saying that the French Squirt was a French state sanctioned assassination I think they were hoping it would play out more slowly so at the EU Summit they could use it as a way to point out that with all these Private Military Security Contractors (PMSC) such as Defence Systems Limted (DSL), Integrated Risk Management Services (IRMS), G4S, Increment (INC) and latterly Blackwater there are plenty of people with that skill set just knocking around these days.

Of course the element of the French Squirt that the Brits ordered the BBC News channel to focus on was the psychiatric care the French are providing to the 4 year old al-Hilli daughter who hid under the corpses of her mother and father for 8 hours. So at around 17:00 (BST) while my father was visiting my grandmother in the care home where the news is always on they carried a live interview with a (not very good) Bristol based expert in Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Mainly this was an attempt to promote discussion on the ward about why my father went extra odd after that whole Church, Samurai sword slashing incident. In order to increase the pressure on my grandmother during that discussion it was around this time that the news was released that a Grenadier Guardsman had died in Selly Oak hospital of his Afghan sustained war wounds. As a military wife this always the sort of news that makes my grandmother's heart beat that little bit faster. Personally I like to think that this along with her brain damage encouraged my grandmother to delay my father's depature in order to mount a protest about the stupidly early time (17:00) they serve supper in a care home in order to make sure all the inmates are asleep before they have to start paying the staff night time rates. Of course this has been strenuously denied by the Brits through the announcement that the 29 year old Ellis Ward of Cheltenham was today convicted of 16 counts of defrauding women, 1 count of fraudulently obtaining police and Royal Military Police identification and one count of trying to con the Daily Telegraph newspaper out of GBP800 who were trying to buy his totally fictional story of being a Metropolitan Police Inspector at both the Tottenham and Croydon rounds of the August 2011 riots. Apparently the Telegraph only got in touch with him through his blog so up until my statements about my grandmother it's was just a small story about the Telegraph criticising it's tabloid competitors about their methods.

Also Andrew Hall, a Stoke FC youth player was convicted and sentenced to 10 years in prison for stabbing his 15 year old girlfriend to death after a row about his jealous behaviour. Obviously this is yet another reference to domestic violence but it was the specific reference to the sexual conduct of English football players that prompted Moldova to show sympathy by giving away an early penalty. They need not have bothered though because England went on to win 5-0.

The best story of the day though is that a 19 year old white woman from Kent has reported to Brighton police that she was raped by two white men on the beach outside the Coalition nightclub while a third white man looked on. While I don't know the exact details of the alleged rape the fact that is has been made public is Brighton Police enquiring about what to do about the strange sexual practice of Dogging in lay-bys on the South Downs. Or to put it another way Brighton has got really sh*t since I left.

And at around 01:15 on 8/9/12 while I've still wine to drink I've lost the power of speech so I'll sing it as 23:59 on 7/9/12 in order to avoid confusion about the today I've been referring to.

23:59 on 7/9/12.
