Today a coach carrying festival goers home from the Bestival music festival on the Isle of Wight to Liverpool has crashed in Gillingham where my sister lives. On top of all the talk of the Hillsborough tragedy where fans of Liverpool football club were killed at an FA Cup semi-final and those episodes BBC1's "Accused" this should help examine the Irish Catholic attitudes to grief present in Liverpool because if you've been keeping up with "Parades End" on BBC2 you would know that Liverpool's been a hotbed of militant trade unionism and Irish Republicanism since certainly the start of the twentieth century.
