That was the aspect of PTSD that Brett Martin was hinting at in his interview. I of course remember it well. In fact after diving headfirst into a police baton charge on Queens road I distinctly remember clinging onto an iron fence watching the steel baton bend as it struck my fingers thinking; "That's going to hurt. I'd better do something about that." However because the human body is a wonderful thing none of my knuckles broke and you can tell the police feel bad about it because every time I show it to them they get all upset.
