If you're not familiar with Justin Lee Collins he's a long haired annoyance who occasionally appears on British TV. More recently though he's been appearing in front of St Albans Crown Court accused of physically and emotionally abusing his ex-girlfriend - Anna Larke. In an optimistic defence strategy Mr Lee Collins used the two week trial to mount a series of vicious emotional attacks on Ms Larke. Almost unbelievably it took the jury 3 days of deliberation to find him guilty. Equally unbelievably he's only been sentenced to just 140 hours unpaid work to benefit the community and ordered to pay £3,500 (USD5500) costs. Personally I expected him to be ordered to pay the full cost of the prosecution for simply not having the decency to plead guilty.
