I've been on the phone to the DWP and it turns out they don't start work again until December 29th. As a result I won't be able to contact them until the deadline they set has passed. Of course because I've already contacted them it should be legally impossible for them to stop my claim for non-compliance but clearly the law has very little to do with it these days.
Personally I think they should just send be a letter telling me that my benefits have already been transferred, doubled and continued until such as time as the Crown wishes to settle it's debts in full. After all that should be the barest minimum tax they should have to pay for keeping the Whitgift estate et al out of prison.
