There Is Nothing to Report.

Today I've been to see my doctor for a routine appointment. Absolutely nothing out of the ordinary happened and it was pretty much exactly the same as the last time I saw him and the time before that. This means that if there is something going on it's happening so quietly and so discreetly that I'm unable to pick up on it. It's much more likely though that after six years the Brits are finally beginning to grasp the balance of power in the relationship and are trying hard to avoid rocking the boat.

Today the news is full of the arrest of the "Nightstalker" rapist who carried out over 200 rapes and sexual assaults. As the attacks occurred in and around the Croydon area and the suspect was arrested in Brockley which is near enough Croydon people might be tempted to read to much into the story. That isn't the case, the police are simply making a lot of noise about it because they're proud of finally closing the case. Of course their pride isn't tempered at all by the fact it's taken them 19 years, 12 of which featured a specialist task force working nothing but this case.

Likewise there is also a lot of noise coming out of both Britain and Australia over the Child Migrants Program of the 1950's and 1960's. This can't possibly be related to me because I've already made it perfectly clear what a British apology to me will entail and I've not seen any evidence that one is forthcoming.
