What A Joke.

Yesterday (7/7/11) the British newspaper, the News of the World (NotW) was forced to close following a scandal over phone hacking an receiving leaked, sensitive information from the police. Today (8/7/11) the rest of the British press are reporting that Andy Caulson, a former editor of the NotW and Prime Minister's press officer is to be arrested today. This is obviously information that has been leaked by the police and is most certainly sensitive to the case. So the NotW scandal has done nothing to change the culture of the British media and to my mind it shouldn't.

All it has achieved is to destroy the newspaper that, amongst other things, destroyed the reputation of Max Mosley. If you're unfamiliar with Mr Mosley he represented the British establishment on the global scale as the head of Formula 1 motor sport. Or at least he did until the NotW revealed that he regularly paid prostitutes to spank him in Nazi themed sex games. He is also the son of Sir Oswald Mosley, a British fascist leader of the 1930's and close ally of Adolf Hitler.

So my money's on them going after the Daily Mail newspaper next. After all it did make a lot of noise about that Stephen Lawrence murder.
