Britain's First Hand Transplant.

In a move that has sent surgeons in France and the US to sleep at the routiness of it all Britain has preformed it's first full hand transplant. This gives Britain the opportunity to spend lots of time talking about 'gout,' 'making connections' and 'waiting for the nerves to heal.' Along with the hashtag #thestoryofmyscar which was trending on Twitter for most of yesterday it also gives me an opportunity to provide a prime example of what it means to live in my world.

Back in 2003 when I first exploded onto the global scene with those funny holes in my hands by way of explanation Britain turned round and said; "Twenty years ago when he was an infant we deliberately burnt those scars onto his hands and we've been training him ever since for just this moment." Everybody else in the business heard that and thought; "Sounds reasonable." Although the initial industrial accident was just that - an accident - it is a review of this conversation that is a large part of the reason why my sister's been undergoing skin graft surgery on that chemical burn on her leg. My sister doesn't seem to mind much though but then she is on that heavy duty cocktail of painkillers known as 'the Micheal Jackson mix'
