Another Essay.

Being a Tuesday this evening I've been to the pub. While I was there absolutely nothing of note happened. However as you would know if you've been reading my Twitter feed while I was in the J.D Wetherspoons across the road at Thornton Heath railway station the police were out with their drugs sniffing dog.

On one level this was a reference to the UK's recent hullabaloo about the advertising van that had been driving around parts of London urging illegal immigrants to; "Go home or face arrest." Initially this had been intended as an August 'silly season' Conservative Party effort to promote discussion about the element of the party that favours the UK Independence Party (UKIP) by comparing their views on immigration to fascist campaigns of the 1970's and 1980's carried out by groups like the National Front. This obviously has a wider resonance across the European Union (EU) with austerity inspired anti-immigrant feeling. Unfortunately in the middle of this on July 31st (31/7/13) my ADHD mate spontaneously decided to turn up at my house possibly looking for a bed for the night. As this is quite a big ask in my world I instead took him and his van up to the local pub in an effort to get rid of him. Although from my perspective this was quite successful it did leave members of the local *ahem* network feeling rather nervous. As a result the national Labour Party started to campaign against the "Go home or face arrest" vans complaining that it and the associated police checks at railway stations left local people feeling intimidated.

On another level tonight's police checks were along with yesterday's announcement of guidelines for CCTV were intended to be the UK showing that community containment can work. This was an effort to negotiate the continued occupancy of 50 Beechwood Avenue and associated properaties despite the fact that legally there can be only one outcome to my August 23rd (23/8/13) probable cause hearing over this criminal damage allegation. I find this particularly worrying because surely even the most moronic Monarch can't have helped but notice that it was around May/June 2013 that confidence in the UK economy really started to pick up. Today's rather arbitrary announcement that house prices are rising just serves to underline that point.

20:30 on 13/8/13.
