Operation Misery: Month 14, Week 1, Day 4.

Yesterday (13/4/14) Rihanna appeared alongside Eminem at the MTV Movie Awards to perform his song "The Monster." This was the performance that was announced last Tuesday (8/4/14) in an effort to put the US at the centre of discussions about the third section of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) fifth assessment report by making it appear as though the US were holding onto some great secret. The secret in question was whether Rihanna would save herself by teaming up with Eminem and by extension me or continue to allow Drake to destroy her. The problem is that everyone in the business already knows that Rihanna's 'relationship' with Drake is orchestrated and pre-determined so there isn't any room for speculation until Drake is removed from the equation.

Needless to say the US got short shrift for this little stunt with the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) convening for an emergency session on Ukraine just as the MTV Movie Awards were beginning. The message seemed to be threefold. Firstly the UNSC was showing that it was in no way concerned by the US' Rihanna operation. Secondly it was mocking the US' plan that I would stay up all night in the hope of catching a glimpse of Rihanna by providing me with another and probably much better reason to stay up. Finally it was laying out the consequences of the US' actions in front of them because the situation in Ukraine is most certainly not improving and is unlikely to do so until the US adjusts it's attitude.

10:45 on 14/4/14 (UK date).
