Minimum Alcohol Pricing Plan.

Today the UK government have leaked a report they plan to publish tomorrow. In this report the Government's chief medical advisor, Sir Liam Donaldson, will call for a minimum price for alcohol sold in the UK. This story is nothing more then a part of the G20 nonsense because such a plan would represent a price control. Price controls are of course banned under the principles of free trade which yesterday's meeting of G20 finance ministers pledged to uphold.

I am quite amused that Brown's delegation have decided to frame a debate over price controls in terms of alcohol consumption. It either means they've just realised that their criminality will never pay or they've just realised that after 12 years of a New Labour government most people in Britain would rather drink themselves to death.
