US 'Wins' Women's World Cup.

Ever since FIFA President Sepp Blatter opted to resign rather then suspend the CONCACAF federation after it was revealed that it has been plagued by epic levels of corruption it has been obvious to all that Team Nike would win the North American Soccer Cup by four bajillion points.

In last night's final things started getting really obvious at the scoring of the second goal which came on the 5th minute. Prior to the set-piece being taken the eventual goalscorer Carli Lloyd was being marked in box. However then an order came from the touchline and Lloyd's marker walked away giving her all the space she needed to score. This was so blatant that even before the ball had been kicked the BBC commentator - who has been doing this for most of this life - was going "Oh look, they're going to let Lloyd score again." After the US were 4-0 up inside 16 minutes Japan scored a goal of their own just to show what they could do if they were trying to win.

At the start of the second half even the Americans had worked out what was going on so just before I went to bed Johnston smashed the ball into her own net in an effort to make the scoreline respectable. Japan were having none of it and went on to grant the US a 5-2 victory.

10:30 on 6/7/15 (UK date).
