Euro2012: The Final.

This evening (1/7/12) the Ukrainian city of Kiev will see Spain take on Italy in the final of the Euro2012 tournament. It is worries about these two nations economies that prompted the European Union to allow the European Stability Mechanism (ESM) to give money directly to troubled banks without the involvement of national governments.

This demonstrates perfectly why I think football and politics should be kept seperate. You see to provide an accurate representation of the current political situation the match would have to involve giving both Spain and Italy their own ball. The two teams would spend the next 90 minutes trying to smash their own ball into their own net as many times as possible.
