Newcastle Gas Explosion.

Today (21/7/12) one man was injured during a natural gas explosion at a residential property of the Heaton area of Newcastle, UK. This is most likely just an accident but coming so close to the Olympics and in a city that will host Olympic soccer events I just can't take it at face value. The only connection I can think of is that Environmental Protection Act prosecution that I brought against the Notting Hill Housing Trust (NHHT) back in October 2011. The case was dismissed after NHHT's barrister claimed a recent UK Supreme Court ruling meant that the act didn't apply. As the Magistrate didn't bother ask the barrister which Supreme Court ruling he was citing as precedent to this day no-ones sure exactly what that precedent is.

However based on my own research the only case I could find that even remotely fitted which (from memory) revolved around a property management firm (a housing trust basically) who were being sued by a property owner after a contractor the management firm employed negligently fitted a natural gas boiler causing an explosion that destroyed the property. The Court ruled that the management firm could not be held liable for the negligence of one of it's contractors. Annoyingly I can't find any reference to the case on the Supreme Court's website. It's not relevant though because that case revolved around un-intentional behaviour (negligence) while the cornerstone of my argument was that NHHT's behaviour was intentional.
