On the second day (6/12/11) of the over 100 participant conference of the future of Afghanistan held in Bonn, Germany two bombs exploded in Afghanistan killing at least 58 Shias on their holy day of Ashura. The Sunni group that has claimed responsibility for the attack - Lashkar-e-Jhagnvi have only previously operated in Pakistan. So the attack seems to be the US raising the prospect of Iraqi style sectarian violence in Afghanistan for discussion and attempting to garner support against Pakistan.
Oh and I got back from the pub at around 20:00 on Tuesday December 6th with no problems to report.
